Hindu couple strangled to death in Netrokona.
Police have recovered the dead body of minority couple from Satpai Ramkrishna Mission Road area of Netrokona. The dead body of the couple was recovered from own their house on Friday noon.
The deceased couple are – Mihir Kanti Biswas (70) and his wife Tulika Biswas (50). Mihir Kanti Biswas was a retired teacher of Krishnogvinda High School of sadar upazila and his wife was a field worker of the Tulika Social Service office.
Jaya Rani, the housekeeper of the couple told that, after the work she left the house after noon on Wednesday. On Friday afternoon when she came to work at the house, the house was locked in the gate. She told the local people about the bad odor from the house. On hearing the news, Mihir Biswas’s younger brother Samir Biswas came and entered into the house to breaking the lock in the presence of locals, then he see the dead body of Boudi (Brother’s wife) Tulika in the kitchen floor and brother Mihir’s dead body on the bedroom.
Tulika’s brother, Mrityunjaya Chanda said that only his sister Tulika and brother-in-law were staying in the house. They have a son named Suman and a daughter named Sumi. They are in Dhaka. The boy came to the last Durgapuja. All the rooms were found shuffled and the Almirah were found in broken conditions
Meanwhile, the district superintendent of police (SP) Joydev Chowdhury, Additional Superintendent of Police SM Ashraful Alam, Mohammad Chanowar Hossain (Sadar Circle), Officer-in-Charge of Police Station OC Taimur Ali visited the spot.
However, initially the police’s idea was that they had been strangled to death two days before they could not trace their body.
District Superintendent of Police Joydeb Chowdhury said those involved in the killings will be brought under the law.

Six months later the police have uncovered the mystery of the couple’s murder and arrested 5 accused.
The arrestees are Rasel Miah (21), Palash Miah (22), Rubel Miah (21) and Palash Miah (22) of Satpai area of Netrokona and Atiqul Islam (19) of Parla area. Meanwhile, PBI has recovered two gold bangles from Rasel’s house.
